What distinguishes these bicycle maps?

Our bicycle maps contain an extensive ADFC cycling route network that illustrates surface conditions, traffic intensity, signage, adjacent bike paths, gradients, railway paths, junction networks, and much more. This network is presented on a base map optimized for cyclists, featuring contour lines and terrain shading at a scale of 1:75,000. All this information is instantly accessible and intuitively understood, helping you navigate effectively.

What makes this app special?

The app seamlessly blends the familiarity of traditional bicycle maps with modern digital conveniences. The GPS position tracking feature always indicates your location. The map can optionally be oriented to your direction of travel. Users can search for locations in a search bar or browse the ADFC’s recommended routes (complete with descriptions and elevation profiles). Additional features allow you to plan your own tour using a cycling-optimized algorithm, which you can refine with information from the map. You can record your journey or import existing routes and highlight points of interest—all while remaining well-oriented!

Here's how to get started:

• Download the "ADFC Maps" app for free.
• No registration is required.
• Optionally access free regions such as "Lake Constance," "Upper Lusatia," "North Sea Coast Schleswig-Holstein," "Rhön," and/or "Trier" in the map shop.
• Approximately 100 additional regions are available as in-app purchases for €2.99 each, with updates for these regions provided free of charge.
• Alternatively, subscribe to a complete package (available weekly or annually).
• The map data is fully downloadable for offline use.
• Purchases can be used on multiple Android devices with the same Google ID—please utilize the "Restore" feature in the map shop for eligible devices.

Please note:

• The regions generally align precisely with printed regional maps (sometimes larger).
• The app's map data matches the scale of its printed counterparts; zooming will enhance visual clarity but not alter content. For additional detail, a free OpenStreetMap layer is available.
• Recording a GPS track in the background may significantly reduce battery life since the app remains active during this time; a notification will appear in the status bar to indicate this.
